Interview: Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) plans made-in-Nigeria car in five years -Haroun Aliyu, Managing Director
2009.12.14
Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) is the only surviving vehicle assembly plant out of the six in the country. Established in 1972, the company commenced full operations in 1975. In April 2006, PAN was privatised when the Bureau for Public Enterprise (BPE) and AP France (technical partners of PAN) jointly divested 54.8 per cent shares, and ASD Motors took over as core investor. Since then, the new core investor has made sure that the company does not close shop because of financial constraints coupled with the global economic meltdown. It has vowed to sustain the company's unrivalled position as the epitome of excellence and resilience in vehicle assembly.
